Dajai 04 26 25 Demo (1) is a demo, and it says so. Daj' uploaded it to the @dajai-io SoundCloud page on May 19, 2026, as part of a project labeled "DAJAI Masters 2026-05-18," and filed it in a playlist called "DAJ' - Master Archive - Vol XII." It has 178 tracked plays and no likes.
The numbers in the title read like a date, April 26, 2025. The upload date is a year later. That gap is the story of this record.
A Demo, Published
Demos are working sketches. They capture an idea before it is fully arranged, mixed or polished, and most artists never let anyone hear them. Publishing a demo is a choice to show the process, including the parts that were not finished.
The "(1)" suffix suggests this is the first file of its name, possibly one of several versions of the same idea. No running time is listed on the upload, so this page will not state one.
Reading the Date in the Title
If the title numbers mean what they appear to, the demo was cut in late April 2025 and posted on May 19, 2026. This page treats that as a reading of the file name, not as a confirmed recording date. What is confirmed is the posting date and the project label, which itself carries a date of May 18, 2026.
A demo from 2025 posted in 2026 fits a pattern visible across the @dajai-io page: archival material moving into public view in organized batches.
The Master Archive Shelves
The playlist name, Master Archive Vol XII, implies at least twelve volumes of archived material. Combined with the project label, it shows a catalog being organized at scale, in dated batches, into numbered shelves. That kind of structure is how an artist with 14,030 SoundCloud tracks keeps the archive navigable.
It is also a public-facing version of what most studios keep private. The shelves are visible, and so is what is on them.
Between Flight to Vegas 2 and DARK I
An April 2025 demo date would place this idea in the year of Flight to Vegas 2, released in 2025, and before DARK I - Outwitting the Devil, which opened the DARK Library on April 7, 2026. This page does not claim the demo belongs to either project. It simply sits in the window between them, which makes it a useful listen for anyone tracing how the sound shifted.
Independence and Ownership
Daj' distributes direct, with UnitedMasters handling DARK I and CDBaby handling Too Dark, and runs both SoundCloud pages himself. The two handles, @dajai-io and @supercooldaj, combine with video plays for about 9.39M deduplicated plays. Publishing is registered at The MLC under DANIEL DAJAI STEWART-HANDY, 47 works at 100% Total Known Shares. Owning the archive is what makes publishing a demo like this possible at all.
How to Listen
The demo is on SoundCloud only, on @dajai-io, with 178 plays. Listen to it as a sketch rather than a single. Then browse Master Archive Vol XII and hear the other files from the same batch. Demos make the most sense when you can hear what they became, or what they were set beside.
