The title on the upload is Heavy - Dajai (Mix Bounce) #5. Read the parenthesis before you file it next to the single. The public list of singles and EPs includes a record called Heavy. This file is a mix bounce, and the number five is in the name, which means at least four other bounces existed when this one got its label. Runtime is 125 seconds, two minutes and five. Plays: 233. Likes: 1. No release date is printed on this pull. The track page is dajai.io/track/heavy-dajai-mix-bounce-5. SoundCloud path: soundcloud.com/dajai-io/heavy-dajai-mix-bounce-5.
What a bounce is doing in public
A mix bounce is a snapshot. Levels where they were, vocal where it was, no promise that the next pass will sound the same. Putting bounce number five on SoundCloud means the snapshot was worth a URL. It also means the catalog now contains a Heavy that is explicitly not the last word. If you came looking for the single named Heavy, look at the title again. The words Mix Bounce and the digit 5 are the correction, printed in the name so a later argument does not have to happen.
Two minutes and five seconds is a short snapshot. You can hear the state of the record without clearing a half hour. One like says one person marked this pass. The other passes, if they are public, have their own counters. This page refuses to borrow them.
No date, on purpose in the data
Lots of the August 12 files have a catalog date. This one does not, on the pull used here. So the page does not invent one. Undated does not mean unfinished in the moral sense. It means the field is empty, and empty is what gets printed. The single called Heavy can have its own story on its own page. Bounce five has a length, a play count, a like, and a title that tells you which pass you are on.
No album field, no genre string on this pull. The listing is thin, which fits a bounce. Thin listings are easier to trust. Every extra adjective would be somebody decorating a snapshot.
How to play this pass
Open the dajai-io upload or dajai.io/track/heavy-dajai-mix-bounce-5. You will hear two minutes. If a later bounce or the single replaces it in your head, that is the normal life of a numbered pass. The number in the title is what keeps this URL honest after that happens. 233 plays stay attached to pass five, not to whatever Heavy becomes.
Pass number five, still called Heavy
Heavy is a name that also exists as a single in the catalog. This file is not that single. Parentheses on this one say Mix Bounce, and the mark after them is 5. 124.707 seconds, two minutes and five seconds. 233 plays, 1 like. No release date on the pull. I am glad the date is missing, because a missing date stops me from welding this pass to the finished record and calling them one thing.
A mix bounce is a pass you export so you can hear the song outside the session. It is not a promise that the vocal sits where it will sit later, or that the kick is the final kick. Putting bounce five in public is a choice. Some people only upload the pass they would defend in an email. This page uploads the pass with the number still on it. If you wanted the single, this is the wrong URL, and the title is trying to tell you that before you press play.
No album field. The fact sheet can list Heavy as a single or EP name. That listing and this bounce are neighbors, not twins. 233 plays belong to bounce five. They do not migrate backward onto a different master because the word Heavy appears in both. The SoundCloud path is the dajai-io upload for heavy-dajai-mix-bounce-5, and the shelf is dajai.io/track/heavy-dajai-mix-bounce-5. Two minutes. One like. A number in the title so you know which pass you are hearing.
